TVS Jupiter CNG Launch Date in India: Expected Price, Mileage, and Specs revealed for April 15, 2026

The Indian two-wheeler market is on the verge of a green revolution. Following the success of CNG motorcycles, TVS Motor Company is set to disrupt the scooter segment with the highly anticipated TVS Jupiter CNG. Expected to launch on April 15, 2026, this "bi-fuel" scooter aims to slash daily commuting costs while maintaining the reliability of the legendary Jupiter brand.

Expected Price and Market Positioning

The TVS Jupiter CNG is expected to be priced between ₹95,000 and ₹1,00,000 (ex-showroom). While this carries a slight premium over the standard Jupiter 125, the significantly lower running costs—estimated at less than ₹1 per kilometer—are expected to make it a favorite for delivery fleets and budget-conscious daily commuters.

Key Specifications & Performance

Based on the platform unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Expo, the Jupiter CNG combines a traditional petrol engine with a factory-fitted CNG kit.

FeatureDetails (Expected)
Engine124.8 cc, Single-Cylinder
Power/Torque7.1 bhp / 9.4 Nm
CNG Tank Capacity1.4 kg (Mounted in under-seat storage area)
Petrol Tank Capacity2 Liters (Floorboard mounted)
Combined Range~226 km
Top Speed80 km/h

Range and Efficiency

TVS claims the Jupiter CNG can achieve a mileage of approximately 84 km/kg on CNG alone. Combined with the 2-liter petrol reserve, riders can expect a total range of over 220 km, effectively eliminating "range anxiety" often associated with pure electric or pure CNG vehicles.

Design and Utility: What’s New?

While the silhouette remains identical to the popular Jupiter 125, TVS has made clever engineering tweaks to accommodate the dual-fuel system:

  • Smart Tank Placement: To maintain stability, the CNG cylinder is placed under the seat, while the petrol tank is relocated to the floorboard.

  • Reduced Boot Space: Due to the CNG kit, the massive under-seat storage seen in the petrol version will be significantly reduced.

  • CNG Indicators: A dedicated digital gauge on the instrument cluster will show real-time CNG levels and a seamless switch-over notification.

Why the TVS Jupiter CNG Matters

With petrol prices remaining volatile, the Jupiter CNG offers a middle ground between traditional ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) scooters and Electric Vehicles (EVs). It requires no long charging hours and can be refilled at any of the rapidly expanding CNG stations across India.

Industry Note: The TVS Jupiter CNG will be the first of its kind in India, likely facing upcoming competition from a rumored Honda Activa CNG later in 2026.
