New Delhi, March 2026 – Mercedes-Benz India is set to redefine the entry-level luxury segment with the official launch of the CLA Electric on April 15, 2026.
The Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric is expected to be priced between ₹55 Lakh and ₹65 Lakh (ex-showroom).
CLA 200 (Standard Range): Expected starting price of ₹55 Lakh.
CLA 250+ (Long Range): Expected at ₹59 – 63 Lakh.
Registrations for Expressions of Interest (EOI) opened in March, with deliveries expected to commence shortly after the April debut.
The highlight of the CLA EV is its incredible efficiency, inherited from the record-breaking Vision EQXX concept.
Range: The top-spec CLA 250+ variant offers a class-leading 792 km (WLTP) range on a single charge.
Battery: It features an 85.5 kWh lithium-ion pack.
800V Architecture: This allows for ultra-fast charging.
Power: The rear-wheel-drive motor produces 268 hp and 335 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.7 seconds.
The CLA EV retains the iconic "four-door coupe" silhouette but adds futuristic EQ touches:
Illuminated Grille: A black panel featuring 142 illuminated three-pointed stars.
Aerodynamics: Flush-fitting door handles and aero-optimized 18-to-19-inch AMG wheels.
The "Frunk": In a first for Mercedes sedans, it includes a 101-liter front trunk for extra storage.
The cabin is a digital masterpiece, dominated by the MBUX Superscreen—a single curved glass panel spanning the entire dashboard.
AI Integration: The new MB.OS (Mercedes-Benz Operating System) features an AI virtual assistant integrated with ChatGPT and Gemini, capable of detecting the driver's mood and adjusting responses.
Sustainable Luxury: The interior uses recycled paper finishes and sustainably processed leather, paired with a massive fixed panoramic glass roof.
Safety: Awarded a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, the car comes with Level 2+ ADAS, 7 airbags, and a 360-degree camera system calibrated specifically for Indian road conditions.
With its combination of ultra-fast charging, nearly 800 km of range, and a price point that undercuts the larger EQE, the Mercedes-Benz CLA Electric is poised to become the new benchmark for luxury EVs in India. It will face stiff competition from the BYD Seal and the BMW i1, but the "Star" badge and futuristic tech give it a distinct edge.
