Audi India has officially expanded its flagship Q range with the launch of the Audi SQ8, priced at ₹1.78 Crore (ex-showroom). Making its debut on March 17, 2026, this performance-oriented SUV is designed to bridge the gap between the standard Q8 and the hardcore RS Q8, offering a perfect blend of everyday usability and supercar-baiting speed.
The defining characteristic of the Audi SQ8 is its powerhouse under the hood. Unlike the standard Q8’s V6, the SQ8 borrows the legendary 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine seen in its faster siblings.
Power: 507 hp
Torque: 770 Nm
Acceleration: 0–100 km/h in 4.1 seconds
Transmission: 8-speed Tiptronic Automatic
Drivetrain: Permanent quattro all-wheel drive
Equipped with adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering as standard, the SQ8 allows drivers to toggle between a plush, executive ride and a stiff, canyon-carving setup at the touch of a button.
The SQ8 retains the striking coupe-SUV silhouette of the Q range but adds several "S-specific" touches to distinguish itself:
Exterior: A reworked Singleframe grille with honeycomb detailing, silver-finished ORVM covers, and an aggressive rear bumper featuring quad exhaust tips.
Wheels: Choice of 21-inch or 22-inch alloy wheels with red brake calipers.
Lighting: HD Matrix LED headlights with Audi Laser Light technology, featuring four customizable light signatures.
The cabin follows a sporty all-black theme with high-end Valcona leather and carbon-fiber accents.
Triple-Screen Setup: Features a 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit Plus, a 10.1-inch main infotainment unit, and an 8.6-inch screen dedicated to climate controls.
Premium Audio: A 17-speaker, 730W Bang & Olufsen 3D sound system.
Comfort: S-stamped sport seats with heating, cooling, and massage functions, plus four-zone automatic climate control and a panoramic sunroof.
In the Indian market, the Audi SQ8 finds itself in a unique niche. While it is more affordable than the track-focused RS Q8 (approx. ₹2.34 Crore), it offers a significant performance jump over the base Q8. It primarily competes with the Porsche Cayenne, Land Rover Range Rover Sport, and the BMW XM.
Note for Buyers: Audi has announced a price correction of up to 2% across its entire lineup effective April 1, 2026. Buyers locking in their orders now can benefit from the current introductory launch price.
