What Makes it a ‘Hooligan’?
The Superhooligan takes the already potent R 1300 R platform and strips it of all civility. It’s a masterclass in weight reduction and geometry.
Engine & Power: The 1300cc Boxer delivers 145 hp and 149 Nm of torque. With a new Akrapovič titanium exhaust, the power-to-weight ratio is pushed into superbike territory, allowing for a top speed of 275 km/h.
The M-Division DNA: For the first time, we see the M 1000 RR Carbon front wheel and signature blue M-spec brake calipers adapted to the Boxer platform.
Lean Angle Obsession: To ensure it can handle the banking at Daytona (and the twisties in the Western Ghats), the Wilbers upside-down forks have been extended by 30mm, drastically increasing lean-angle clearance.
In India, the "Super-Naked" segment has been dominated by high-revving triples and V4s. The R 1300 R Superhooligan proves that the Boxer can compete.
For the Indian rider, the core 2026 R 1300 R model (arriving soon) will feature Automated Shift Assistant (ASA). This means you get the "Hooligan" performance on the highway but a stress-free, clutchless experience in the soul-crushing traffic of Bengaluru or Gurgaon.
The Superhooligan isn't just a museum piece; it’s a rolling catalog of what’s possible. Most components—the Ilmberger Carbon parts, the Advik adjustable levers, and the milled footrests—will likely be available as "Option 719" accessories for Indian customers.
"We didn't just want to build a tribute; we wanted to build a weapon that honors the raw, unfiltered energy of the 70s with 2026 technology," says the BMW Custom Speed Shop team.
